MB&F Drops a Green Version of Its Jellyfish-Inspired Aquapod

Known for its avant-garde approach to watchmaking, MB&F is back with a special new TI Green Aquapod. As part of its Horological Machine No.7, or HM7, the Aquapod was inspired by founder Maximilian Büsser's early encounters with jelly fish while vacationing with his family -- giving shape to a radical, three-dimensional design. The watch is constructed out of grade 5 titanium, and is powered by a 303-piece movement that features a central 60-second flying tourbillon which packs in 35 jewels and has a 72-hour power reserve.

This is not your traditional timepiece as in the place of the hour and minute hands, two rotating titanium discs tell the time, followed by a left and right crown, one for winding and one for setting the time. As this is a dive watch, lume was a big factor for legibility at dark-depths. Not only is there Super-LumiNova, but there are also three panels of AGT lume surrounding the flying tourbillon.

As usual from MB&F, quantity is extremely limited (set to 50 pieces) and priced near a six-figure digit at $108,000 USD.

For a less complicated watch, Gucci has just dropped another black cat-themed watch.
